HDD Acoustic Manager
All modern hard disk drives support 'Automatic Acoustic Management' (AAM) feature. It means that you can configure the acoustic parameters of your hard disk drive. "HDD Acoustic Manager" allows you to manage HDD acoustic directly from the Windows 95/98/ME. Make your HDD work quietly! "HDD Acoustic Manager" allows you to assign any desired acoustic level to your HDD. After assigning minimum acoustic level it may happen that you would not notice any noise from your HDD anymore(for example try this on HDD IBM DTLA-307020). Make your HDD life longer! Minimum acoustic level means that disk magnetic heads are moving more carefully. Therefore your HDD will work longer. Make your HDD work faster! Some new hard disk drives (like HDD Maxtor DiamondMax VL40) are delivered with 'Quiet mode' set by default (that means minimum acoustic level is set). The utility allows you to disable 'Quiet mode' and your HDD will work faster.
